Questions, answers, comments or discussions on aspects of politics relevant to mathematicians on MathOverflow (main or meta)
@HarryGindi Not quite complete unity: we've tried it before, meta.mathoverflow.net/questions/2797/mathoverflow-user-jaile‌d/…, and the resulting discussion discourages me from trying it again.

Downvoting systematically a user
I think I might know who it is. I'll see about getting this sorted out. (Edit: I've sent a message to Community Management, who presumably will get back to us shortly. Hopefully the downvotes will be invalidated soon.)

Is there a way for moderators to contact MO users personally?
Okay, I misunderstood what you meant. As Anton explained, there is an internal messaging system where moderators can reach accounts about issues. But I don't equate that with contacting people personally, in the sense of knowing their names, etc.

Well-received but unanswered Math SE question; should I consider posting it here or requesting migration?
You shouldn't worry about cross-posting at this point: enough time has elapsed. I'm not completely sure that MO is the right home, but I don't think there is harm in trying.

Writing a proper MathOverflow question
There's a piece of advice from Polya, and I can never remember quite how it goes, but one version is: if you find a problem to work on and can't solve it, there may be a simpler version of the problem that you can solve: find it! But I can't quite remember if it's supposed to be version 2: there's an even simpler problem you can't solve; keep going until you find the simplest version that you can't solve, and maybe you'll actually solve it!

Writing a proper MathOverflow question
(And "cocomplete"? That's a familiar term from category theory, but I'll guess you meant something different.) If the question is sensible, then it shouldn't take anything like 5-8 years -- but it's possible you'd find in a year or so that you're not really asking yourself the right questions. It's hard working alone, especially when you're young as I'm supposing you are. Once you get into graduate school and begin talking turkey with an advisor, your work will probably get a lot more focused and meaningful. Meanwhile, keep trying to simplify the mathematics you do on your own terms.

Once again, Mark, and this is the last time I'll say this: we saw just two private messages from you, and that's it. We responded to the first and gave you a link with information on how to delete, and then we chose not to get into a back and forth where you keep asking us to delete your account, because we already said we weren't going to do that. Really, this is getting ridiculous.
