No, I'm aware of the idiom, and in fact used the phrase that way (in a private conversation) just last night. But thanks anyhow.

@LSpice Heard. Are you suggesting I edit? I can do that, you know.

Community Management will do the investigation; I'm out of it. All I did was bring this meta thread to their attention (and this is my answer to OP's actual question: ask CM to see if anything's there).

@CarloBeenakker In the case of the OP, lack of mathematical rigor is really out of the question. The OP is also among the most courteous people I know here. When downvoting comes to feel like harassment, it needs to be investigated.

I'll see if Community Management can determine anything (as in the case you linked to, I have a suspicion). In my opinion: couldn't happen to a nicer guy, and I hope this gets sorted out.

Procedure for requesting a complete removal from MathOverflow
By the way: although site mods can destroy accounts, such actions do not destroy content.

Since you mentioned my name, let me point out that "self-vandalism" isn't my concept. It's considered a violation across the SE network, and SE policy has always been to revert such actions. "Please do not vandalize your posts. By posting on the Stack Exchange network, you've granted a non-revocable right for SE to distribute that content (under the CC BY-SA 3.0 license). By SE policy, any vandalism will be reverted."

Undelete a post
It's slightly awkward to migrate a question to another site if the question was already answered there. Is that the case?

VIndictive downvoting--what can be done about such childishness, errh, lack of professionalism?
@TitoPiezasIII A Community Manager responded, and confirmed that four recent questions of yours had one downvote apiece, all four from the same user. So your suspicion is correct. Feel free to write [email protected] if the problem persists.

@TitoPiezasIII Site moderator tools for detecting this, especially for recent history, are pretty limited. However, SE Community Managers (who are SE employees) have better tools; we can check in with them. I've just written them now.

Clarifying an answer that was deleted by moderators [2023]
Here you go, Alec. It's been undeleted now.

Let us wear hats
I'd like to note that the moderator team has been in contact with Community Management, and there is no opt-in only possibility as of now, and apparently it wouldn't be simple thing to enable. (But if we had that, I can't see why we wouldn't go that way.)

I accidentally downvoted this out of haste, thinking this was the spot to upvote or downvote on hats. Well, now you know where I stand on hats.

Should we flag suspected ChatGPT posts?
@GeraldEdgar I thought the main problem with the ChatGPT posts was not so much plagiarism as that they are largely gibberish. OTOH, I'm not sure I understand what you mean by "plagiarized (by memory)". It sounds really broad and easily misapplied.

ChatGPT strikes MathOverflow
@TimCampion Sounds like ChatGPT is cheating off of Lean's test.
