I am a Lecturer at UWM in Milwaukee, WI. My Ph.D. is in manifold topology. However, I am moving my research interests into an application of manifold topology, specifically modeling human motion with robotics engineering, then using the models to help other humans -- athletes? dancers? martial artists? -- move better ("To Become the Vic Braden/Gideon Ariel of Raitoningu (ライトニング) Ryu Bojutsu, Hontai Hakkei Ryu Aikijujutsu, Shushin Ryu and/or Nami Ryu Iaijutsu, Kenjutsu, Kyujutusu, Hojutsu, and [Aiki]Jujutsu ['Samurai Martial Arts'], and Association Football"). I have a blog related to my learning experiences in these new areas of math, This Week's Finds in Second-Order Ordinary Differential Equations on Manifolds and Geometric Control Theory. I haven't yet reached a point where I am attempting to write papers on this subject, but hope to devote considerable time to learning this new subject in the near future.
