I know the more general remarks belong elsewhere, but I don't have the bandwidth to properly spearhead that discussion in the foreseeable future, so I let it leak out here. I guess math.SE would be fine, but I think it's just fine for MO too.

Thanks for the thanks! I wouldn't be as outgoing as I am were it not for the MO community.

To add to what Scott said, the reason we have to be more wary than the Stacks project is that random people on the internet can immediately post on MO, whereas submissions to the Stacks project are reviewed by a human before they're incorporated.

@GerryMyerson: That's correct; the current moderators will stay in office. The one exception is that I intend to step down.
