Feb 19, 2021 at 22:16 comment added Todd Trimble Mod No, among community-based reasons, it's just this, or "This question does not appear to be about research level mathematics within the scope defined in the help center", or a custom-built reason (user-specified). The other reasons to close are duplicate, needs clarity or focus, needs more details, and opinion-based. That's it. Might you be thinking of a different site?
Feb 19, 2021 at 19:07 comment added user20948 If I remember correctly, there was an option "more appropriate for other sites like MSE". Now seemingly this disappears. Personally, I would guess that the current indication might confuse a new user, especially when there are mathematical comments left.

Feb 19, 2021 at 18:17 comment added user20948 It seems to me that we need to treat this kind of issue more seriously. For example, I have just seen this closed question without explicit reference to the MSE (and a suggestion to add more thoughts, say).
