Stack Exchange network consists of 183 Q&A communities including Stack Overflow, the largest, most trusted online community for developers to learn, share their knowledge, and build their careers.
As Kaveh suggests in the comments, it makes sense to have an independent blog (e.g. mathoverflow.org) for institutional issues and an SE blog for "wider scope" material (if there is demand for the latter).
