How to deal with questions referencing/promoting questionable/'fake' research?
@Magisch and you're not claiming to have proved it either.

+1. By the way, I have looked at the post referenced by the OP, and the problem is not only that his proof of the Riemann Hypothesis is ridiculous, but also that he can't even manage to state the Riemann Hypothesis right.

@Martin. Interesting. I think the change is a clear progress. I have nothing against Facebook or Twitter (though "where is my flying car?") personally, but if they get a quasi-monopole on the diffusion of news and even of interpersonal communications on the internet (replacing ordinary email), this gives a few people an extraordinary power of censorship.

Is it okay to put on your profile that you're looking for a job?
Thanks for the answer. Concerning the last paragraph, I believe this is true if you apply as a post-doc or a non-tenure assistant professor. These are positions that are almost always advertised on mathjobs, and if someone in a university knows you from MO, he/she will probably recognize you anyway when you apply. But for positions that are not widely advertised or not even existent before you apply, I believe that MO can be a nice and soft way to throw a bottle to the sea, with the message "I am unhappy where I am. Please hire me!"
