I'd strongly suggest using Blog Overflow, because that's monitored and administrated by our site reliability engineering team. It seems odd to not get their help for free, and I wouldn't face resistance requesting a blog for MO.

I'm taking a look at this, which means going back through a bit of history as changes go, and how your top tags are structured. Please give me a few days to wrap my head around all :)

I'll make sure Jin sees this folks - it seems to be a recurring issue. We might be able to make some tweaks for those that have difficulty differentiating colors.

The linked meta post does have something to do with it, however I'm not certain why we didn't just take the time stamp of the answer. It's almost as if that particular badge hadn't been granted since you wrote the answer, but that's definitely not the case. I'll ask a developer to have a peek and see how this might be explained.

Also, note, as a moderator you can get a very detailed history by clicking on mod -> timeline on any post (I do realize that this is about the public one, I just wanted to make sure you knew it was there as it's quite new)

I'm going to bring this up on our feature call this week. So what you're basically saying is whenever there's no edits, just have a link that says 'history' instead?

@TRiG They've got a particularly sensational tag with some somewhat .. amusing .. questions that folks tend to swarm, Twitter is to blame for half of that too. That can be safely considered to be a fluke, or at least soon will be able to be safely considered a fluke.

@PeterLeFanuLumsdaine Everyone sees the same list, it's basically collected from all of the sites (or, well, sites where there's enough movement for a question to be considered interesting to the algorithm) and then it's cached. What I'm digging into is what makes it 'hot', which has come up before, but things changed since then. I'll get back to this as soon as I can, I promise, now curiosity is really eating at me! :)

A much newer system has been installed next to that, which kicks in way before it did (hence coming up with something better). It's still there as a backup, but the new 'spam ram' system is keeping most of this out.
