Why the sudden backlog of late answers needing review?
I think the enqueueing of more answers into the late answers review queue was useful -- a significant percentage of them need other actions than just clicking "no action needed". Probably feeding some more posts into the first posts review queue would be beneficial as well, I guess.

Are interdisciplinary questions about mathematics of musical instruments on-topic here?
I think such question is on-topic here if and only if it is interesting for mathematicians. -- That means in particular: if your question is solely interesting for people building musical instruments, then MathOverflow is unlikely to be the right place to ask it.

It's been another year...MO exists since six years!
If we take the posting of Question Number 1 as a basis, the posting of this comment marks a little more precisely the 6th anniversary of MathOverflow!

Site updates are live
@KurtisBeavers: Wouldn't it be possible to make the layout of the user profile page a bit more flexible, such that one can hide unwanted items (e.g. Sections "Reputation", "Badges", etc.) and arrange / resize the others as one wishes to?

How could I have better clarified my question?
You are welcome. -- Maybe you could have avoided people voting to close if you would have said more explicitly that you are interested in all possible choices of the $p_i$ such that the expected number of turns is $t$ (cf. Nate Eldredge's comment). -- What do you mean by saying that you "sometimes just get these random close votes"? -- As far as I see, your only other question on MathOverflow has score +10, is open and has no pending close votes.

How could I have better clarified my question?
I don't know why that question should be unclear. -- In any case I voted "leave open" in the review queue, and now I have just cast the first vote to reopen.

What points should someone think about before joining MathOverflow?
Why didn't you post this question from the same account as the previous one? (I assume Chandra and Chandra Gupta Putrajaya are the same person(?))

Is it good to ask somebody else's question on MathOverflow?
You say that you "sometimes ask their questions on MathOverflow" -- but it doesn't seem you have asked any question on MathOverflow so far(?)

Should top mathoverflow threads get DOIs and be permanently archived?
@Josh: Please read the webpages you link to! -- The fee for assigning DOI's would not be 50000 dollars per year, but just something like 275 -- and the fee for archiving would not be 81960 dollars per year, but just something like 250. -- Or do you suppose MathOverflow's annual total publishing revenue would be more than 500000000, respectively, more than 200000000 dollars??
