I got my diploma in mathematics in 1993 from Würzburg University with a diploma thesis in the field of affine differential geometry.
Later I did mathematical work on Lie symmetry theory of ordinary differential equations. But my big passion in mathematics is algebraic geometry and to some extent also algebraic number theory and commutative algebra.
I am very interested in constructive methods, especially gröbner bases and their applications in systems like Macaulay2 or Sage and up to a point I would subscribe to the formulation "the rise from theory to practice".
I work as a software developer for a living and pursue mathematics in my spare time on my homepage linked below you can find some of my mathematical notes (www.aviduratas.de/wissmathsynop.html).
