I am currently a Ph.D. candidate at the CUNY (City University of New York) Graduate Center. My major research is on the application of coding theory towards distributed computing with a particular interest in the use of erasure codes towards fault tolerance and straggler mitigation in distributed matrix multiplication and distributed machine learning algorithms.
In the past, I have been interested in the use of information theory in cybersecurity and artificial intelligence, quantum information theory, the relationship between representation theory and computational aspects of matrices and tensors, combinatorial-style problems in network information theory and coding theory, and Ramsey theory.
I enjoy recreational mathematics and puzzles; listening to jazz, classical, rap, and R&B music; playing the guitar; and getting quiet-time outdoors by hiking, fishing, and hunting.
