What is wrong with the tag excerpts?
I added some of those tag descriptions earlier today, and they definitely did not have the <p>'s then. I baselessly speculate this might be related to this fix.

No MathJax on meta
Meta doesn't seem to have MathJax enabled ($x=y$). I think it's best enable it to be consistent with the main site.
