I usually find unclear how to choose between the closing reasons "Needs details or clarity" and Needs more focus. Moreover the reasons "Off-topic because..." seem much more frequently used.
Would it be a good idea to merge these closing reasons?
Both excerpts pasted below. Also previously (until some time in 2019) these closing reasons were "unclear what you're asking" and "too broad" which which I had the same request in mind).
Basically an unclear question (missing implicit assumptions etc) is prone to be too broad because of its multiple interpretations. While a too broad question is unclear by lack of details. A suggestion would be to merge to "Needs details, clarity or more focus".
(Side note: I also once made a suggestion to enlarge the scope of the seldom used "primarily opinion-based", to no effect so far.)
Needs details or clarity Please clarify your specific problem or add additional details to highlight exactly what you need. As it's currently written, it’s hard to tell exactly what you're asking. See the How to Ask page for help clarifying this question.
Needs more focus Please edit the question to limit it to a specific problem with enough detail to identify an adequate answer. Avoid asking multiple distinct questions at once. See the How to Ask page for help clarifying this question.
