I am a masters student in mathematics and I am self studying and trying problems of graduate texts in mathematics like Tom M Apostol modular functions and Dirichlet series in number theory, Serge Lang Complex analysis, Hungerford algebra.

I am new to MathOverflow.

So, I wanted to ask whether I could ask exercise problems and doubts in texts from these books on math overflow or they must be asked on Math Stack Exchange?

$\begingroup$ Short answer: ask on math.stackexchange. Long answer: exercises are for self training to study "old and known" material and MathOverflow is for "newer and less known" or "unknown" material. Asking for homework help on less than a graduate level is not encouraged (your examples are borderline, I recommend not asking here); asking for references on unknown extensions of a known exercise (with appropriately brief scope) is permitted.
