Jan 25, 2018 at 14:58 comment added Joe Berner There are two types of divisors, Weil divisors and Cartier divisors. Algebraic cycles generalize (and fully subsume) Weil divisors, but in general Cartier divisors may be different and there is no analogous generalization (to my knowledge).
